چکیده
Abstract The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array can achieve unprecedented spatial resolutions of 15 to 5 mas with the longest baselines 16 km and observing at highest frequencies 275–950 GHz (1.09–0.30 mm). Two conditions are paramount for successful observations these frequencies: a phase calibrator in close proximity science target stable-enough atmosphere provide low residual rms post-phase-referencing. We investigate effect phase-referencing cycle times, in-band band-to-band (B2B) techniques, using distant calibrators, bands 7, 8, 9 >2000 m. find that (1) estimated from longer than effective baseline increases as function time . (2) expected coherence corresponds well achieved image coherence. (3) Faster times (<1 minute) improve calibration accuracy when calibrators (<2°) used. (4) For <2 minutes negative impact dominates error budget. also explore whether theoretical parameterization used estimate stability measurement, combined an empirical degradation separation, is suitable estimating images. latter proves be more accurate. Finally, we illustrate pragmatic approach establishing optimal strategy via dynamic on-calibrator scan lengths.

Design of an S-band Ultra-low-noise Amplifier with Frequency Band Switching Capability
In this paper, an ultra-low-noise amplifier with frequency band switching capability is designed, simulated and fabricated. The two frequency ranges of this amplifier consist of the 2.4 to 2.5 GHz and 3.1 GHz to 3.15 GHz frequency bands. The designed amplifier has a noise figure of less than 1dB, a minimum gain of 23 dB and a VSWR of less than 2 in the whole frequency band. The design process s...
متن کاملNarrow-band and wide-band high-speed recursive digital filters using single filter frequency masking techniques
In this paper the design of single filter frequency masking recursive filters is discussed. We briefly review the previously proposed lowpass narrow-band filters and propose a design method for highpass narrow-band filters. Wide-band filters are also discussed. The proposed approach uses several identical filters, except for periodicity, which are mapped to a single hardware structure using fol...
متن کاملModified U-Slot Stacked Micro-Strip Patch Antenna for Ultra-Wideband Applications in S Band, C Band and X Band
The U-slot micro-strip patch antennas were originally developed for bandwidth broadening applications. This study presents a transmission line feed to modify the U-slot stacked rectangular micro-strip patch antenna for Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) communications. The modified antenna has a U-cut loaded with parallel slits and corner slots and is printed on a dielectric substrate of FR4 with relative p...
متن کاملNonlinear Modeling, Analysis and Design of an Active Antenna in S Frequency Band
An active antenna for transmitter application in S frequency band is designed and analyzed using harmonic balance technique which is based on the nonlinear model of active devices. In this active antenna, the amplifier is integrated with the radiator which is a rectangular patch antenna. This patch antenna is analyzed employing full-wave momentum method. By applying nonlinear model of transisto...
متن کاملTechniques for In-Band Phase Noise Reduction in Synthesizers
This paper reviews several techniques used to reduce the in-band phase noise contribution of fractional-N frequency synthesizers. The paper develops several practical techniques for specifying the noise and linearity of components used in a fractional-N synthesizer. As an example, it presents a synthesizer with an in-band phase noise floor of 97 dBc/Hz@10 KHz for an RF output frequency of 2.432...
